Starting Point - Jekhen Grassland
There wasn't anything out of the ordinary at Jekhen. Just the usual tech and units to be found. I have a lot of material, mainly gold, in my ships hold to trade, so I head back to the outpost at Patero Woods.
On the flight over, I spot another one of the diamond objects. This one is up way higher in the atmosphere. Maybe even up in orbit. I wonder again about the lines that extend down to the ground from it, as well as further up above it.

Outside the outpost, right next to the landing pad, are a couple of the Hexamius. This is the closest I have been able to get to them, this time a senior and a baby!

My mining and collecting efforts have paid off. I'm glad that I discovered the trade terminals. This time when I leave the building I am a couple hundred thousand units richer! I am definitely digging this trading thing.

The plan for today is to go 'scanner hopping'. I will ask the signal scanners for the location of shelters and follow the trail to drop pods. I have good intel suggesting that is all I have to do. Drop pods mean more slots for my suit which means I can install more tech and carry more items and resources for trade baby oh yeah! Trade is in my best interest anyway, as I know each successive suit slot will cost more than the last. The unknown marker that I saw from the outpost turns out to be a small shelter with some tech.

What I am supposed to do at this point, if I am to follow my plan, is craft a bypass chip and ask the signal scanner here for another shelter location in the hopes of finding a drop pod at the next link in the signal scanner daisy chain. As often happens, things aren't going to go to plan today. There is another unknown marker a couple of minutes away, and I want to see what it is. Its exploration - sometimes you gotta be flexible. I'm glad that I didn't pass on the marker, because when I arrive I find a type of monolith that I haven't seen before. More words learned, and another test passed. Another language milestone.

On to the next unknown marker. This one is lucky. A drop pod!

On my way to the next marker I spot a HUGE deposit of gold. Before and after pictures, and another after picture. I picked it clean and vacuumed that gold up!

The next marker is another drop pod! I guess wandering from marker to maker didn't end up being so off task as I thought it was in the beginning. I find some tech in a piece of damaged equipment.

At the next marker? Another drop pod! 3 pods from the last 3 markers! I'm on a roll AND I got a lovely evening shot of the pod and a sentinel floating nearby.

Just a barren waypoint. No shelter or supplies beyond some isotope containers and a supply crate.

There is another unknown marker in the distance, just beyond a rock tower. I stop to size up another very large deposit of gold, and as I'm about to mine it (PROFIT SWEET PROFIT), I notice something. There are TWO planets visible in the sky! I guess my vantage point had always been too low until I got to this hillside. It is very clear now. There is the obvious one that I have been daydreaming about visiting, and there is the other hanging low beyond the distant horizon! Another world!!!

Got a good close up look at an Odum!

Another monolith peeks into view. This is another kind that I haven't seen before, though it does have the 3 knowledge stones like the other ones. I am surprised to fail the test. It seems to me that the bolder, braver choice was always the right one. I thought for sure that giving in would have been interpreted as weakness. Instead I failed because I resisted its command.

The next marker is a waypoint that I've never seen before. There are no buildings, no shelter or outpost proper. This is just another remote upload station, except this one has what looks to be some sort of portable trade terminal, like the ones at the outposts I already visited. Through it, I can trade anything that I am currently carrying in my suit. My pockets are stuffed with gold woo hoo!

Walking to the next marker, I get another distance milestone. All I find when I get there is another remote upload station.

The next marker isn't much better. It does have some damaged equipment that yields some valuable tech.

The last visible marker in the area is another small storage facility.

From Osageirc I make the long trek back to my ship, doing some more mining along the way. When I get back to the outpost at Sepai, where my ship is waiting, I make another small fortune selling all the gold I mined since leaving the portable terminal at Peppana. 107,000 units!!! I have noticed that I can mine gold in full view of the sentinels, as much of it as I want, and they don't seem to care. It must not be rare on this world. They seem to get very cranky when I take rare resources. I will definitely mine all the gold I can while still on Komputerheng. Get while the gettin is good!
Tomorrow, I go back to scanner hopping, searching for more drop pods. And any good mining along the way, of course.
